Goodman mini-split installation in Henderson typically runs $3,500 to $7,500 depending on system size, line-set length, and whether you’re replacing an old unit or starting fresh. We stock the common Goodman-compatible parts on our trucks and can usually schedule installation within a few business days, not weeks. Most Henderson owners call us after the unit has been limping along for a season or two, blowing warm air on the west side of the house while the east side stays comfortable, or after a failed attempt to add a second indoor head to an existing condenser. The good news is this equipment is serviceable, and the failure usually traces to one identifiable component rather than the whole system.
Which Goodman Models This Applies To
We work on the full Goodman mini-split lineup currently in the field across Henderson, including the ComfortBridge and older non-communicating series. The model number on the outdoor unit’s rating plate tells us what we need: the first few characters indicate the series and capacity, and the letter after the BTU rating identifies the refrigerant. Many Henderson homes built in the last decade have the 9,000 to 18,000 BTU single-zone units, while the two-story homes in Green Valley Ranch and Anthem tend to run 24,000 BTU multi-zone or ducted-air-handler configurations.
The biggest compatibility gotcha we see: Goodman changed control-board communication protocols on the ComfortBridge line. You cannot mix a new ComfortBridge indoor head with an older non-communicating outdoor unit, or vice versa, even if the BTU ratings match. If you’re adding a head to an existing single-zone system, we verify the board revision before ordering anything. On the parts side, we stock OEM Goodman boards, blower wheels, fan motors, and expansion valves for the common residential sizes, and we carry quality aftermarket equivalents from Trane and Carrier-part suppliers for non-critical items like capacitors and contactors. The decision on OEM versus aftermarket comes down to the part’s exposure: anything that moves, senses, or regulates gets OEM. A run capacitor is a commodity, and we don’t bill OEM markup for a part that doesn’t need it.

Signs Your Goodman Mini-Split Installation Is Failing
- One indoor head blows cold while another blows warm. The compressor is running, so the issue is usually in the refrigerant distribution or a failing electronic expansion valve (EEV) on the warm head. In Henderson’s dry heat, this is the single most common multi-zone failure we see by July.
- The outdoor unit runs constantly but airflow at the head is weak. The blower wheel inside the head is clogged with dust and skin oil, which Henderson’s fine airborne dust makes worse than most climates. The wheel loses pitch, airflow drops, and the coil freezes.
- Unit trips the breaker within minutes of startup. Almost always a failed compressor start component or a shorted control board, not a bad compressor. Goodman boards on the ComfortBridge line have a known weak solder point at the fan-relay, and we keep replacements stocked.
- Water drips from the indoor head even when the unit is off. The drain pan is cracked or the condensate line is blocked. Henderson’s hard water builds mineral scale in the drain line fast, especially on units mounted on interior walls with long horizontal runs.
- Unit makes a groaning or buzzing sound that changes with loading. Buzzing under load usually points to a failing EEV stepper motor. A groan that stays constant comes from the outdoor fan motor bearings. Both fail gradually, so owners stop noticing until the system stops cooling.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
Full Goodman mini-split installation in Henderson generally sits between $3,500 and $7,500 complete. Condenser replacement only (same head, same line set from a same-size and same-refrigerant model) typically runs $1,800 to $3,400. A single indoor head replacement lands between $1,200 and $2,800 including refrigerant adjustment and control-board commissioning, depending on whether you have single-zone Goodman equipment or a ComfortBridge multi-zone setup that needs protocol matching.
Every install includes the written price before we begin, the line set and drain line inspected and reused or replaced as needed, deep-vacuum evacuation, proper refrigerant charge by weight, operation and airflow verification, and the full-year written guarantee on the work. There’s no overtime charge for evenings or weekends, and the price doesn’t shift once we’re on site. We are a Garrison Partners company and have operated under The Garrison Standard since 2003: written price first, work by the book, site left clean, and a 365-Day Done Right Promise on the back end. If the install fails within that year, we return at no charge.
DIY or Call Us?
The honest answer on a Goodman mini-split is that the owner-accessible work mostly stops at cleaning the washable filter and clearing the drain line from the outlet end. The electrical side is live 240-volt, and the refrigerant circuit is under pressure. High-voltage wiring, board replacement, EEV work, and anything that requires opening the refrigerant lines should be handled by a trained professional. A wrong wiring hookup on a ComfortBridge board can destroy the new part before the unit ever starts. That’s not a scare line; we replace failed DIY board installs a few times a year, and the second attempt always costs more than the first call would have.
If the unit is dead, call us. If you hear buzzing, call us. If you’re not sure which generation of Goodman equipment you have, that’s a quick look at the rating plate, and we’ll tell you over the phone what the likely path is before anyone drives out. Reach us at (775) 593-7060 and we’ll get someone out with the right part on the truck.
FAQs
How long does a Goodman mini-split last in Henderson?
A properly installed and maintained Goodman mini-split in Henderson lasts 12 to 18 years, but the outdoor fan motor and the EEV on the indoor head typically need replacement around year 9 to 12. Henderson’s heat loads and dust shorten surface mount component life compared to milder climates. Call (775) 593-7060 if your system is in that age range and acting up; we’ll check the high-wear items first.
Can a failing part be repaired instead of replaced?
It depends on the part. Blower wheels and fan motors are replace or repair, in that order. Control boards on the older non-communicating Goodman models are frequently repairable with a component-level fix, but ComfortBridge boards generally get replaced because the communication chip is not independently replaceable. We’ll tell you which one you have before quoting, and we never sell a new board when a solder joint is the problem.
How long does a Goodman mini-split part swap take?
Most single-part replacements, like an EEV or blower wheel, run 2 to 4 hours including recovery, evacuation, and commissioning. A board swap is usually under an hour. A full condenser replacement takes a day. We give you an exact arrival window and the written price before work starts, and we stock the common Goodman-compatible parts on the truck so more jobs finish the same day.
Do you stock Goodman parts or do you have to order them?
We stock common Goodman and ComfortBridge components on our service trucks: boards, blower wheels, fan motors, EEVs, capacitors, and contactors. Rare items get ordered from our distributor in Las Vegas and arrive in 1 to 3 business days. For most Henderson calls, we arrive with the part you need; for the rest, we tell you the timeline before you commit.
If the price surprises you, something went wrong before I even opened my toolbox.
