Get your free estimateCarrier Mini-Split Installation: The Henderson Owner’s Guide
Carrier mini-split installation in Henderson typically runs $3,500 to $7,500 depending on system size, number of indoor heads, and whether your existing line set can be reused or needs replacing. We stock Carrier-compatible equipment and parts on our trucks, and most standard single-zone installations can be scheduled within the same week, not the same day. You usually find out your Carrier mini-split has failed the hard way: the indoor head blows warm air on a 110-degree afternoon, or the outdoor unit runs constantly while the room never cools below 80.
Marco Benitez has been installing and repairing Carrier mini-splits across Henderson since the neighborhoods around The District at Green Valley Ranch were still being built out. He will tell you the price before he touches anything, and he will explain what it covers.
Which Carrier Models This Applies To
We install and service every residential Carrier mini-split line currently in the Henderson market: the Performance Series (38MHRC/40MHHC), Infinity Series (38MGRC/40MGHC with ducted options), and the entry-level Comfort Series (38MAR/40MAQ). If your unit predates these naming conventions, check the data plate on the outdoor unit’s right side. That plate lists the model number, refrigerant type, and electrical specs. Write those down before you call us. It saves a trip.
One compatibility gotcha that catches Henderson owners off guard: Carrier uses different communication protocols between series. An Infinity indoor head will not pair correctly with a Performance outdoor unit, even if the physical line connections match. On the OEM versus aftermarket decision, we stock genuine Carrier parts for warranty work and quality aftermarket equivalents for out-of-warranty repairs where the aftermarket part meets or exceeds Carrier’s spec. We will tell you which is going into your system and why. Dalton Heating & Air Henderson is an independent service provider, not affiliated with Carrier Corporation.

Signs Your Carrier Mini-Split Installation Is Failing
- Indoor head blows warm air while the outdoor unit runs. This usually points to a refrigerant leak at the flare fittings or a failed reversing valve. Henderson’s summer heat turns a slow leak into a dead system fast because the unit simply cannot shed heat anymore.
- Water dripping from the indoor head or staining the wall below it. A clogged condensate drain line or a cracked drain pan. Dust from our desert air settles in the drain path and turns into sludge faster than homeowners expect.
- Outdoor unit short-cycles: it starts, runs three minutes, shuts off, repeats. Typically an overcharged or undercharged system, or the compressor is hitting its thermal overload. Short-cycling is the fastest way to kill a compressor in a Henderson summer.
- The system ices up, even when it is 100 degrees outside. Icing is almost always low refrigerant or restricted airflow. That ice is not cooling your house. It is choking the coil and the compressor is working against itself.
- Error codes on the remote or blinking lights on the indoor head. Carrier units flash specific sequences that map to fault codes. Take a video of the blinking pattern before you call. It lets us bring the right part on the first trip.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
A full Carrier mini-split installation in Henderson runs $3,500 to $7,500, and single-zone systems land at the lower end while multi-zone setups with two or more indoor heads sit at the higher end. What moves the number is the size of the system based on a real load calculation, the number of indoor heads, whether ductwork is involved on a ducted model, and whether your existing line set and electrical disconnect can be reused.
Every installation quote from Dalton Heating & Air Henderson includes the outdoor unit, indoor head or heads, line set, electrical whip, pad or wall bracket, refrigerant, a full system startup, and a written price before any work begins. There is no separate “installation fee” that shows up later. The installation itself carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if anything about the install is not right, we make it right. If a repair fails within a year, we return at no charge.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely check a few things: confirm the breaker is on, clean the washable filters in the indoor head, and make sure the outdoor unit is not buried in debris or blocked by a recent landscaping change. Those are maintenance tasks, not repairs.
What you should not do is open the refrigerant circuit. Mini-split installations involve pressurized refrigerant, high-voltage electrical connections, and flare fittings that must be torqued correctly. A bad flare leaks slowly for a season, then your compressor fails out of warranty. Refrigerant handling is regulated, and venting it is illegal. If your Carrier mini-split needs anything beyond a filter cleaning, call (775) 593-7060 and let us diagnose it properly. The service call is cheaper than a ruined compressor.
FAQs
A correctly sized and installed Carrier mini-split should run 12 to 18 years in Henderson, with the desert heat and dust pulling the average toward 15 years. Systems that were oversized or had poor flare connections fail much earlier because they short-cycle or leak refrigerant slowly.

Many Carrier mini-split problems are repairable, including failed capacitors, contactors, fan motors, and control boards. Repair pricing runs $150 to $650 for most component failures, and we will tell you if the repair makes financial sense before recommending a full replacement.

A single-zone Carrier mini-split installation typically takes 4 to 6 hours from arrival to startup. A multi-zone system with three or more heads is usually a full day, and occasionally a second morning for final trim-out and programming. We set the install date in writing when you approve the quote.

We also stock parts for Trane and Lennox systems.
