Lennox Mini-Split Installation: The Henderson Owner’s Guide

A Lennox mini-split installation in Henderson typically runs $3,500 to $7,500 installed, depending on the unit size, the number of indoor heads, and how far the line set has to run. We stock Lennox-compatible mounting hardware, line sets, drain kits, and electrical disconnects on our trucks, so most single-zone installs get done in one day. The way most Henderson homeowners find out their mini-split has a problem is simple: the unit runs but the room never cools, or the outdoor condenser has gone silent altogether. Sometimes it’s the compressor, sometimes it’s a control-board fault on a Lennox model that has lived through three or four brutal summers. Marco Benitez has pulled apart enough Lennox units in this valley to know which failures are worth fixing and which ones mean it’s time to replace the whole system.

Which Lennox Models This Applies To

We install and service the full Lennox mini-split lineup that you’re likely to find in Henderson homes: the MLA and MPB single-zone lines, the MPA and MPB multi-zone heat pumps, and the newer MCF and M22 series wall-mounted units. Each series uses a different line-set fitting style and control voltage, and that matters more than most people expect. A drain-pan sensor from an MLA won’t talk to an MPA main board, even if the connector looks identical from the outside. If you’re not sure what you have, look at the data plate on the right side of the outdoor unit: the model number starts with the series code, and the fourth character usually tells you the tonnage. For Lennox specifically, we recommend OEM parts when the component is anything in the refrigerant path: compressors, reversing valves, EEV coils, and main boards. For accessories like brackets, line-set covers, and condensate pumps, a proven aftermarket equivalent from a known supplier is usually the honest value play. We’ll tell you which is which before you spend a dollar.

Signs Your Lennox Mini-Split Installation Is Failing

  • Unit runs but no real cooling. The compressor may be short-cycling or the EEV (electronic expansion valve, which meters how much refrigerant enters the coil) has stuck. We see this on Lennox units that have run hard through Henderson’s 115-degree July afternoons without a proper clean season.
  • Outdoor unit hums and then clicks off. That’s usually a failing start capacitor or a compressor that’s drawing locked-rotor amps. Don’t keep power-cycling it: every dead start adds more heat stress to the windings, and that’s how a $200 capacitor job turns into a $2,500 compressor replacement.
  • Water dripping from the indoor head. The drain line is clogged with the fine dust that Henderson’s dry wind pushes through every open window. Lennox’s drain-pan design is tighter than most, which means a small clog causes overflow faster than you’d think.
  • One indoor head works, the other blows warm. On multi-zone Lennox MPB and MPA systems, this usually points to a failed EEV coil on the individual head or a refrigerant undercharge. The system’s main board splits the load between zones, so a single bad valve starves just that room.
  • Ice building on the outdoor coils in mild weather. That’s low refrigerant or a failed defrost sensor. Running it this way scores the compressor, and Lennox compressors are not cheap to replace once they’ve eaten themselves.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

For a complete Lennox mini-split installation in Henderson, plan on $3,500 to $7,500. A single-zone 1-ton unit in a master bedroom or a casita runs on the lower end. A 3-ton multi-zone system with two or three indoor heads, a longer line set, and a dedicated electrical circuit lands at the higher end. The price includes the outdoor condenser, the indoor air handler(s), the copper line set, the condensate drain, the mounting hardware, the electrical disconnect, and the labor to put it all in by the book. Before we do anything, you get a written price. Not an estimate. The number. Marco’s line on this is simple: if the price surprises you, something went wrong before he even opened his toolbox. Every installation carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if it’s not done right, we make it right, in writing, for a full year.

DIY or Call Us?

Here’s the honest split. You can safely check the air filter on the indoor head, clear debris from around the outdoor unit, and make sure the drain line isn’t kinked. That’s where safe DIY starts and ends. Anything involving refrigerant, the electrical disconnect, or the high-voltage wiring is not a Saturday project. Mini-split line sets run at 300-plus PSI, and a missed flare or a bad torque on a flare nut means a slow leak that kills the compressor in a season. You also can’t legally recharge your own refrigerant without an EPA 608 certification. We’re a state-licensed and insured contractor, and our techs are factory-trained on Lennox plus eight other major brands: Carrier, Trane, Goodman, Rheem, York, Daikin, Bryant, and American Standard. If you’ve got a dead Lennox in Henderson and you want it done right the first time, call (775) 593-7060 and we’ll get you on the schedule.
